One of the biggest exhibitions on the annual calendar, Prolight + Sound 2016 kicks off to day at Messe Frankfurt Exhibition Centre.
Following a record year in 2015, the fair will be even bigger than ever before this year, with 940 exhibitors taking over the floor in the debut of the show's new location in the eastern section of the exhibition centre. The show will run from April 5th to April 8th, with the concurrent Musikmesse show opening its doors from April 7th to 10th.
As always, this year’s Prolight + Sound will include a comprehensive event and conference programme. The first day will be devoted to young people with the first 'Future Talents Day', which includes a line-up of special events for up-and-coming event specialists to gather a host of professional development information.
In addition to the Prolight + Sound Conference with the new sections, 'basic' and 'advanced', there will also be another edition of the Eventplaza Conference including the I-ESC safety conference. Rounding things off is the Manufacturers’ Forum with a variety of informative topics.
This year's show will also see the return of classic features such as the Concert Sound Arena and Live Sound Arena on the outdoor exhibition area. Visitors will also find innovative products at the Agora, the new focal point of the fair.
New this year, Café Rideau provides the meeting place for theatre professionals in Hall 3.0, while the Woodfilm & PHSC networking lounge in Hall 4.0 is the place to go for making contacts and professional development in a stimulating atmosphere.
DJCon in Hall 5_6.1 is also being held for the first time at Prolight + Sound this year, and offers daily lectures, live DJing and much more.
Also new for 2016 are the moving.picture.pavilion (Hall 4.0), which will provide a platform for the subject of moving-image production, and the Job Exchange in Forum 0 (Stand C01), which has been organised in cooperation with the Professional Lighting & Sound Association of Germany.
