Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Audiovisual Media (GCAM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sunday with iflix Middle East and North Africa Company to boost Saudi media production.

The agreement seeks to “develop Saudi talents by helping the company find local producers, directors, actors and writers in the field of audiovisual media,” said the authority’s statement. The agreement is another development in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 mission to create a thriving media and entertainment sector in the Kingdom.

It also aims to support the talented by developing, promoting and distributing their works through the iflix entertainment service. Since its launch in June 2017, iflix has quickly expanded its footprint across the Middle East and North Africa.
