New study profiles top 27 Middle East production houses

 Drama production made up 51% of TV production in 2017 but have constituted 32.4% of all TV series aired in the first eight months of 2018. A new study by Arab Advisors Group profiles 27 production houses in six Arab countries. The report analysed a total of 121 series which aired for the first time in 2017 and during the first eight months of 2018.

The figures are part of a new report analysing 27 production houses which produced a total of 54 television series, aired during the first eight months of 2018. The report from Arab Advisors Group profiles 27 production houses in six Arab countries. 

Arab Advisors Group’s analysis of 27 production houses in six countries reveals that the analysed production houses produced a total of 67 Arabic television series, which aired for the first time in 2017 and 54 series aired for the first time during the first eight months of 2018.

The report titled “TV series Production Houses in the Arab World 2018” was released by Arab Advisors Group on October 28, 2018. The report provides an overview of 27 production houses in six Arab countries namely; Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria and the UAE.

“Arab Advisors Group’s report revealed that among the analyzed production houses, those in Egypt produced the highest number of television series which aired for the first time in 2017 and during the first eight months of 2018." Ms. Dina Khreisha, Arab Advisors Senior Research Analyst, noted.

“Arab Advisors Group’s analysis revealed that the majority of productions which aired for the first time in 2017 and the first eight months of 2018 are of the drama genre, constituting 51.5% and 32.4% of total productions, respectively.” Mr. Yanal Alshaban, Arab Advisors Research Analyst, added.
