Following in the suit of content delivery platforms around the world, Roku has made its premium services free for a month to encourage people to stay indoors during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
A statement from the company said: “As most of us are spending time at home now, you may be wanting to watch the latest news, stream educational and family entertainment, or take a break with free movies and TV shows. To make streaming TV a little easier, we’re rolling out “Home Together,” an initiative focused on helping the nearly 100 million people in households with Roku devices find and watch the content that matters most right now.”
Roku says the offers are available to new subscribers in the US for a limited time.
Closer to home MBC made the services of its SVOD platform Shahid VIP free-to-air for a period of 1 month.
