Larry King, a noted primetime television host, has passed away aged 87. King died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles according to a tweet by Ora Media, production company. King was known for his relaxed interviewing style, made popular by his suspender supporting attire. It is reported that King conducted a whopping 50,000 interviews having interviewed political figureheads, heads of state in power, billionaire businesspeople and entertainers.

Most notably, he presided over a Middle East peace summit in 1995 with PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat, King Hussein of Jordan and Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. Over the years he interviewed global greats such as the Dalai Lama, Elizabeth Taylor, Mikhail Gorbachev, Barack Obama, Bill Gates and Lady Gaga.
King was also famous for interviewing celebrities that were often considered mysterious to get a hand of. Amongst those names were Frank Sinatra, who never spoke to reporters. And then there was Marlon Brando who explicitly stated of wanting to be interviewed by King. In the 1994 interview Brando went on record to state: “You have nothing to gain, you have impressed all people, certainly me, [as a] very forthright, sincere and direct…”
King’s career spanned 25 years from 1985 to 2010. During this time he was radio show host and a perennial figure on CNN. He was known to be a middle-of-the-road TV journalist and did not err on the path of left or right views.
