Snell Advanced Media (SAM) has appointed Phil Myers to lead its IP product range.
Myers has in excess of 20 years’ experience of product management and business development and has held a number of technology leadership roles within the industry, most recently for Grass Valley within the EMEA region where he was responsible for architecting digital media workflows and IP solutions. He previously worked at CVP Group, Pinnacle Systems and Sony and co-founded Oddfish films in 1997.
Myers said: “I’ve witnessed first-hand the excitement that SAM has generated in the market and I am eager to bring my experience and background to help to further develop SAM’s compelling proposition in IP. This is an exciting time in the industry and in particular for SAM and I am looking forward to attending NAB in my new role.”
The last two years have seen a significant investment in SAM’s portfolio and product development, with an ambitious array of new products. IP is a cornerstone of the Live Production and Playout offering with further investment set to follow.
Robert Szabo-Rowe, EVP and general manager, live production and infrastructure, said: “I’m delighted we have secured someone of Phil’s calibre to lead our IP product range and have no doubt that he will make a significant contribution in this area.”
