Professor Brian Cox, broadcaster, physicist, musician and all-round funky science guy, has been named as a keynote speaker at this year’s IBC Conference. Cox will speak at the IBC Conference keynote session ‘Television’s Expanding Universe’ on Sunday, September 14.
“I’m very much looking forward to speaking at IBC2014. Television programmes like Carl Sagan’s Cosmos and James Burke’s Connections [pioneering British science series] had a great influence on me when I was younger, and it’s my view that television is still the most powerful and direct way of inspiring new generations of viewers,” said Cox.
Cox is credited with making science accessible and interesting to British television viewers and he will explain his approach and style. He will also be giving his thoughts on the possible evolution of television.
The IBC Conference is one of the main pillars of the IBC exhibition and conference, the annual industry event that is the largest in the world outside North America.
The IBC2014 Conference is built around a series of streams and themes to help delegates navigate the sessions that are most relevant to them. The conference takes place on September 11-15 and the exhibition on September 12-16.
