Opening of Abu Dhabi's Etihad Arena has been postponed as a precautionary measure against the spread of coronavirus.
In a first for the region, Disney on Ice Frozen was set to wow audiences at Abu Dhabi’s latest entertainment venue, on the waterfront of Yas Bay, from April 15 to 18.
However, it has been announced that this has now been put back to September 9-12.
A statement said: “The health and wellbeing of everyone attending our live events as well as our touring personnel is our top priority.”
Tickets are valid for the new dates on the same day of the week, start time and seat as the original purchase. Customers who have any questions about the transfer of tickets or obtaining a refund should contact the point of purchase.
The Disney on Ice Frozen performances were being set up to welcome between 5,000-7,000 people per show, according to general manager Brint Jackson.
Etihad Arena is set to become a go-to venue for live entertainment. With a flexible capacity ranging from 200 to 18,000 people, the venue will be able to accommodate both large-scale and private events.
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi ordered the closure of its main tourist attractions, theme parks and cultural destinations from Sunday until the end of the month.
