Dramas accounted for the majority of Arabic series productions in 2015-16 according to research from Arab Advisors Group.
The report, ‘TV series Production Houses in the Arab World 2016’, profiled 24 production houses in five Arab countries and analysed 97 series produced in 2015 and the first seven months of 2016.
Arab Advisors Group analysis of 24 production houses in five countries revealed that the analysed production houses produced a total of 50 Arabic television series in 2015 and 47 series in the first seven months of 2016.
“Arab Advisors Group analysis revealed that the majority of productions for 2015 and the first seven months of 2016 are of the drama genre, constituting 58% and 49% of total productions, respectively,” said Dalia Haddad, Arab Advisors senior research analyst.
“Of the analysed production houses, Egypt and the UAE-based production houses were the most productive. Lebanon-based houses followed,” she added.
