Indigo chooses IPV

Indonesian broadcaster adds new workflow system.

Indigo chooses IPV

PT Creative Indigo Productions, a leading provider of news and information content for Indonesia’s premier broadcasters, has updated its production process and boosted productivity with a new asset management and workflow system from IPV, a global leader and largest independent supplier of media, metadata and low bitrate, frame-accurate video technology to the broadcast and professional video sectors. The system is based around the IPV Curator media management system along with other core IPV technologies.

With a requirement to produce six half hour e-news programmes a day, from a typical 36 hours of new footage, Indigo, based in Jakarta, was keen to move away from its original tape-based systems. It turned to systems integrator LSV in Singapore, which worked with IPV to develop the cost-effective but powerful platform.

The solution uses HP servers for ingest and editing, Raid-protected HP NAS storage for short-term access and a long-term archive using the ALTO Content Library from Disk Archive Corporation. All are managed by IPV Curator. Content is ingested from tape, or increasingly from solid state camera storage, and is immediately available in both full resolution and as a low resolution proxy, using the well-known IPV SpectreView system.
