twofour54, the commercial arm of the Media Zone Authority – Abu Dhabi, will celebrate the culture, heritage, and talent of the UAE at Qasr Al Hosn Festival by showcasing a collection of local films directed by Emirati talent with the support of twofour54.

The Festival, taking place in Abu Dhabi from 11 to 21 February 2015, will be documented by twofour54’s production unit and is set to captivate visitors with a public programme that honours the UAE’s culture and history.

As part of the programme, twofour54 will screen a series of films produced by twofour54 at the Festival’s cinema.

One of the films to be screened during the festival is twofour54’s “13:37”. Directed by community member Eisa Al Subousi, “13:37” is a psychological drama set that shows the struggle of Mariam, a young wife and mother, as she ponders the idea of her individuality through a series of arguments with her husband, Mayed. Her ongoing pursuit for an answer to the fundamental question of: “what is ‘us’?” leads to the discovery of a deeper cause for her marital troubles.

Other films on twofour54’s public programme include: Sunset State, Feeding Five Hundred, Dark Symphony, Bahar, Daddy ABC, The Orphanage, Waiting, Smaller than the Sky, Ice, Shadow, and Emirati Expressions.

Maryam Al Mheiri, chief operating officer, twofour54, said: “Media platforms are an important way to share, celebrate and preserve culture and we are honoured to be involved in supporting a festival that showcases Emirati culture to all nationalities living in Abu Dhabi and UAE.”

“We are proud to document the activities of the 10-day Festival to provide an experience that can be shared with those not able to experience the festival first-hand,” she added.

In support of preserving the UAE’s culture and history, twofour54 will also host a stand entitled Setting Emirati Creativity in Motion by showcasing the country’s traditions and customs through film and also promoting the career opportunities available in media to aspiring Emirati talent.

twofour54 will display different projects it has supported, from TV and film productions to apps and comic books developed by community members. There will be a download station of creative lab’s latest apps: the digital e-book, My Mom’s Pretty Veil; electronic game, Red Bug; and comic book, Shaheen.
