Samsung’s new Galaxy A80 smartphone will target live streamers.

The new smartphone features an alternative to the notch that manufacturers adopted in recent times to accommodate the front facing camera.

However Samsung joined a growing number of smartphone makers who have been looking for a means of eliminating the notch and give users a seamless screen experience.

To achieve this Samsung’s A80’s rear camera set is used as the devices front cameras as well.

The camera module is attached to a mechanised motor that rises from the back of the devices and flips the cameras to rotate towards the user in order to take a selfie.

In doing so, Samsung has managed to target ‘live streamers’ as the quality of the footage from the front facing angles will be similar to the main camera quality.

“Galaxy A80 is created for the Era of Live – a world where digital natives are capturing, sharing and connecting in the moment,” said DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics.

“The latest innovations in the camera, design and performance of Galaxy A80 bring a new mobile experience that fits the needs of today’s generation: always on and always ready.”
