Japanese cable specialist Canare has opened a new office at Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZA) Industrial Park to support the growing requirements in the MENA region. Momen Nabil, General Manager of Canare's Middle East subsidiary, heads operations in the Middle East and will be based in the office, which was previously functioning as the Canare warehouse in Dubai.

Canare is a highly reputed Japanese supplier of electronic cable, connectors, cable assemblies, and patch panels with a long history of supplying for the broadcast, A/V and installation markets. The Middle East office supports customers in the GCC, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, some CIS countries and also most Arab countries in North Africa, Nabil told Digital Studio earlier this year.

The new office in Dubai is one of eight Canare subsidiary companies around the world. During CABSAT in January 2018, Nabil has spoken about the warehouse established in DAFZA: "We have our own warehouse located in Dubai Airport free zone with a total space of 300 sq. m. keeping more than 80% of our lineup in stock." The Dubai stocking of upto 80% of Canare's product lineup allows Canare to provide faster support to Middle East customers.

Speaking to Digital Studio earlier this year about the Middle East market outlook, Nabil said, "I think 2018 is starting much better. We expect to expand our horizons, especially in the government and even from the private sector. We are doing well in Pakistan with TV stations and doing good work in Iraq and here in the UAE with Dubai Media, Abu Dhabi Media and SkyNews Arabia who are using our installation materials."

Nabil added that they plan to significantly expand Canare's presence in Africa, with a specific focus on Northern Africa and Southern Africa.
